    Are you looking to convert a 1Gig AVI to a 700Meg MPEG-2 or a 1Gig MPEG to a 700Meg MPEG?

    Filesize is directly proportional to bitrate. Regardless of what your source is, just convert it to the desired format and use a bitrate calculator to determine what bitrate to use to get the desired filesize. You can find a bitrate calculator in the tools section. Note that this only works for multipass vbr or cbr encoding modes. If you use anything else it is simply a matter or trial and error.

    BTW, this issue is specifically convered in almost every single conversion guide.

    Is there away to limit the size of the movie using TMPGEnc?

    You have a choice of converting the whole movie, then splitting it into 2 later with Merge and cut (Preferred method) to fit on 2 VCD's

    Or you can click settings > source range, and limit how much it does. (half at a time) to fit on 2 VCD's

    Sqeezing the whole lot onto 1 CD, will give a bad quality movie.
