  1. I've always captured my DVD movies, but recently just broke down and bought a DVD-ROM so I can learn how to rip them. When I capture movies, each movie took approximately 20-25 Gigs to store on my computer, so I could only hold two or three movies at a time.

I'm hoping I"ll be able to store more movies on my computer with the DVD-ROM. When I rip a movie, can I rip multiple movies in a row, and then use TMPGENC to convert them all to VCD. Or do I have to convert to VCD immediately after ripping, before I can rip the next movie?

Also, approximately how much space will each movie use up on my hard drive after ripping from the disc? Am I looking at 5 Gigs per movie, approx? 10 Gigs? Or still looking at 20-25 Gigs per movie? Any and all info will be of great help, thanks!

They average between 3.8 to 9.8 gigs. I rip a couple then encode and delete the vobs.

  5. The DVD ripping itself doesn't take long. It's converting it to mpeg that kills you.
