  1. I'm copying DVD segments, none of which are more than 47 minutes long. Under the bitrate tab, it appears that anything under 50 minutes should fit on a 74 minute (650 meg) CD. But the resulting files I'm getting are all between 700 and 750 megs. What am I doing wrong?

  2. dvd2svcd allows for the maximum size on a given media. As mode2/XA
allows roughly an extra 100 meg's (due to the lack of error correction)
to be recorded, this is what dvd2svcd aims for:

ie. a 74min CD = 740 megs (not including overburn)
a 80 min CD = 800 megs (not including overburn)

Is using the entire CD a problem?

  3. Well... I don't know if it's a problem. See my post in Software Playing: http://forum.vcdhelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=97347

Well, you must have found out by now that the filesize is not a problem.

I hope you you have succeeded to burn the bin/cue file to CD-R. If not, then try this: DVD2SVCD also did an Mpeg file as output. This is the actual movie file. Just load this file into NERO. If NERO does not complain, then you will have most probably a correct SVCD.

  5. Thanks for the reply. I finally tried the SVCD on the latest version of WinDVD, and it worked fine. I also went to Best Buy and tried it on a standalone player (a JVC XV-S300BK), and it played perfectly. So I'm happy for now.
