  1. I am having trouble encoding some Divx movies with TMPEGnc. If I open the Divx file with windows media player it will play the Divx file. But when I go to encode the Divx file with TMPEGnc, I have audio and no picture. I have the newest version of TMPEGnc 2.5. I have tried an older versions of TMPEGnc and experience the same problem with both versions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1, load AVI into Vdub and scan for bad frames. Video > Scan video stream for errors
1b If it finds bad frames, set video/audio to streaming and SAVE AS, save out another copy of AVI

2, Now that the AVI is junk free, load into TMPGENC.
2b Select options > environmental settings
2c click the VFAPI plug-in tab
2d right click the "DirectDraw" and select higher priority, do this several times until its at the top with a value of 4

    re-install the latest DivX Codec.
    re-install VirtualDub

Make sure that you RESTART your computer after you reinstall the DivX Codec. VERY IMPORTANT!!!...

if you still have problems you might wanna do some system maintenance checks (e.g. scandisk, virus check...)

  5. vacman37,

The problem might be you have not got the correct codecs loaded.

If you are sure u have the latest codecs then the very next
thing is to save the sound to a seperate wav file and
use the divix source as the video, and the wav file as the
    sound.

Right click AVI select properties, look at the codec information, make sure you have the codec.

If you have SMR (Angel portion) installed, un-install it, its full of bugs, then install the Nimo codec pack

Nimo, should fix this problem anyway.
