  1. Anyone know how I can extract the ac3 audio file from a divx video. Here's the thing, I want to keep the ac3 audio. I don't want to convert it to wav or mp3. Anyone know what program will do this? I thought maybe virtual dub, but I think that it will convert the audio to wav. I have done a search on the board, but I didn't see anyone asking how to strip the ac3 but keep the ac3 file. Thanks for any help.

  2. open the file in virtualdub, select audio->direct stream copy then select file->save wav. give it a filename and vdub will put a .wav extension on it but it is really an AC3 (or whatever format the divx file stored the audio in). If it really is AC3 just rename the output file as a .ac3 and there you have the desired result.

    hope this helps
