  1. I installed w2k for the first time yesterday, and everything seemed be working right. Ati file player & DVD both works, but TV doesn't even open.
    When you try to start it, nothing happens (in both, 7.6 and updated 7.7). I never had this kind of problem in w98 (many other problems , yes ), and if I remember right, i used MMC 7.6.
    My drivers are the newest, I have dx8.1 installed, I can't find out what is the problem... Help is very much appreciated. Or could I get some older version of MMC, that would work & where to get it?

    Some hardware specs:
    1400 athlon
    Soltek sl-75kav/kav-x (some via chip)
    512 ram
    maxtor 60g & 40 g hd

    Second question, kind of offtopic, have any of you had trouble installing w2k with aiw radeon? I had to take it out and use some old 2mb graphic card when installing w2k. If i used aiw, just when the setup of w2k was launching, the screen goes black.

  2. it sounds like you have to install the additional capture driver that is posted on the ati web site. probably version 6.13.10.6125. go to the ati driver section for your specific card and look for it. the capture driver was posted on june 13th, 2002.

    Take a look at this link:
    http://www.ati.com/support/infobase/4023.html

    * Download the codecs
    * Uninstall MMC 7.6
    * Install the codecs
    * Install MMC 7.6

  4. I have an AIW Radeon on a Epox 8KHA+ mobo with the Via KT266A chipset running Win2K. Epox said I didn't need any of the drivers from the Via 4 in 1 package, and AMD and Micro$oft provide the same reg fix for Athlons running Win2k that fixes an AGP large page problem. I had so many problems before I found that info. Even the one where the display would just go into energy safe mode and be black. Once I used both I have not had any problems. ATI drivers install just fine now. I would always at least get some kind of error or it would just hose Win2k. I put links for where to find these in another post about Via chipsets.
