  1. I am having a problem with VCDEasy. I have used it before, and was able to add files just fine. However, when I try to add files now it gives me the following error:

    "filename.mpg"
"352 x 240" is not a valid resolution for a "PAL" encoded sequence.

I am doing everything exactly the same as I did the time when it worked. Any suggestions as to what I need to do?

    Thanks,

    Sheryl

  2. PAL mpeg files (VCD) need to be 352x288 resolution. The one you are using is an NTSC one. In VCDEasy using Settings, (S)VCD Player try changing the preferred tv system to NTSC

  3. Thanks. I tried it, but it didn't work. I received the same message. So, now I am trying to re-encode with 352 x 288 resolution. However, as I mentioned before, I did use PAL encoding with 352 x 240 in with another dvd, and it worked just fine. Any ideas as to why? The reason that I originally did it with 352 x 240 was that I read somewhere that if you were in North America, you should use that resolution. Wrong advice?

  4. If you live in North America, you should be using NTSC settings. For VCDs, the resolution will be 352x240 with a framerate of 29.97 fps.

    The framerate is most important.

If you are encoding with TMPGEnc, be sure to load the correct template.

Is there any reason why you are encoding to non-standard resolution/framerate combinations?

    Regards.
