i have burned a couple of images to dvdr. but when i try to burn a certain one it only burns the beginning that says warning and just stops playing period like its protected or something. i am using dvd dcrypter to copy image and movie factory to burn the image. how can i by pass the first part and just burn the rest of the movie. its an iso file is there a way to burn or check the iso file . i like this process because its much faster than anything esle its almost like burning directly from the dvd. it only takes about 1 hour to copy and burn any other movie.

hmm under win98, personally I wouldn't touch it for DVD burns, but that's me. I would use Nero for the burns and not Movie Factory. You can use DVD Decryptor and rip a DVD to iso and then burn the image, but to me that no different than ripping the VIDEO_TS folder intact and then burning that in Nero with 2x media. Same differnece timewise. I do not know what you are using for your media however as those cheapies like Princo have really bad failure rates. One adtvatange you have over me is you have the A04 with burn proof technology and I do not with my A03, so I set my A03 as master, that helped but what really helped was converting it to firewire with a 1394 converter from caloptic. Also some user have reported that settingh the A04 to PIO mode and not DMA ( and if you set to DMA it's an ata 33 device and not ata 66/100/133 so set you DMA mode accrodingly ).

the dvd r i usse are pretty good . i have a problem with the movie playing all the way through when i play in dvd player. i have had no problems but with the ones that have the warning at the beginning of the movie like its protected against copying. i use dvd decrypter to copy iso and burn with movie factory and it works great with older movies as compared to newer movies that are coming out. please reply

Movies are generally css copy protectected, if you can rip them to your harddrive then it should be no problem burning thme back to dvd-r. assuming you do not modify any file once ripped. If you run ifo edit to modify the ifo files and recontruct the vob file then it's best ot test your burn or to burn top dvd-rw to make sure it plays back, otherwise if you rip then it should pay back no problem.
Copy protection does not copy over on the burn so it's either the burner, the software or something you do after the ripping process. I have ripped a movie 1 : 1 and get no problem on playabck, it's when I went in with ifo edit and did not follow directions to a t ( from www.doom9.org guides on the same DVD to DVD-R single layer ) that I got hang up after openening Movie Studio logo even though the burn was a sucess. This means if you rip a dvd-5 disc ( single layer ) you must rip ALL the files, bup, ifo included, then burn it back complete. It will work unles you omit a file or you edit the ifo file. -
can u explain a little bit more about ifo edit . i am still kinda new to this. if i can bypass the logo of warnings i am sure it will burn succesfully. how do i bypass to get a good burn . i have a pioneer dvr 104 and use movie factory to burn. is this the correct software to use. i try nero but could'nt figure what to use video, iso , udf etc. waht should i do?

you can read ifoedit at http://mpucoder.kewlhair.com/derrow/ . I personally like it alot .This program not only reduces my encoding hours but gives me original dvd qulaity. I use Primo prassi and Nero to burn Video_TS folder. So far all my DVD-R and DVD-RW plays on most standalone DVD players. I can even keep original DVD with menu, commentary with 9.4G DVD-R direct copy with parassi 2.0.

Teddy, how are you burning a DVD-9 to DVD-9? Are you splitting it to two DVD-R's?
