mini dv convert

is it possible to download a movie from my mini dv cam (jvc520u) to directly in svcd format. Cause now i take temgenc to convert a big avi to svcd and if the movie have 30 minutes it take almost the same time to convert to svcd. Any help. Thanks you all.

PowerVCR2 will do that, but I have it and I cant get it to work, even though it says it should work i can't get it to work on my

system - You can find PowerVCR on Kazaa, so i would download it there first to see if you can get it to work for before you go and shell out money for it.

I just use TMPGnec to convert my DV files to mpeg2 - works good for me and powervcr is a pain in the ass S L O W program, at least on my pc. Maybe if i had a 2ghz cpu and more ram it would work better - i dont know
