    When I use the Pinnacle PCTV Card(with the software that comes with it) to Capture straight to MPEG, the sound is late 20-30 seconds(1 hour movie). When I use VirtualDub Drops frames like crazy. I can only capture 352x288.
    1600XP
    7200 rpm HDD
    256 Mb.

    Please Help.

    Turn off all background apps. (virus scanners, etc..)
    Make sure your drives are in DMA mode.

    You haven't given much detail about your system or proceedure. If you have a look at the following forum thread it contains the hardware setup I have and the programs and settings I use to capture through the PCTV Card.The only things I have changed since then is an upgrade to a Pentium 3 and I only capture at 480 x 576 regardless of the source.
