  1. Hi All,

Does anyone know of any software to capture single frames from a DV camcorder using a firewire card ?

Preferably free, as I'd like to try doing some time-lapse work.

    Cheers

  2. If you buy a firewire card, they used to supply free Video capture and editing software (like Ulead Videostudio etc..)

Still you want free stuff, you can search in this vcdhelp.com site. They have software and link to other sites where you can download trial version or freewares.

  3. Ok, perhaps I'm missing something here then

I've got Ulead Media Studio, which does allow me to capture the current "live" frame to an image file. but what I'm after is something that will capture a frame every x seconds and record it to mpeg/avi file

If you can use Virtualdub to capture then you can hit Ctrl+1 to capture source frames and Ctrl+2 to capture output frames. You might wanna capture a video sequence and then extract your frame sequence...

  5. Look at the newest guide - it works in WinXP and will do timed saves.

    Enjoy!
