  1. Using Nero (or another burning software), is it possible to burn several MPEG-1 files onto a DVD-R and have them play in a standalone? Essentially, the disc would be an oversized VCD. Has anyone tried this?

  2. This has been discussed 100s of times before and there is even a guide under the how to's and then author.

  3. I know how to re-encode the audio and author it as a DVD. I'm asking if it can be authored as a VCD? Without using SpruceUp or DVDit or any other Authoring programs. Can i just load my files into Nero, burn it, and have them play?

I think he means burn a VCD file-structure on DVD media. Oversized VCD.

Interesting idea - I don't know. Can't try it. Some DVD players check media type and switch over automatically. That's why miniDVD doesn't work on most players. As soon as a CD is detected, it assumes it must be VCD (or SVCD if the player is capable).
