  1. i use tmpeg to convert avi to vcd/scvd. As you know there is sometimes a problem with audio, so i take the wav out of the avi, and then convert it to 44000 16bit, then use vdub to put the audio into the avi again and compress it to mp3. When i do that i get sound but half way through i have no sound!!!!. Is this a common problem? and does anyone know how to solve it

    many thanks

  2. i am a bit new myself, so i have not heard of that problem. but instead of taking out the wav, have you tried using an external audio encoder like tooLAME? i dont know if that will solve your problems, but maybe it is worth a shot. it would save some time too. to enable it, go to option -> environmental settings -> external tool. you have to download the app too of course.

When you save the wav file from the avi. Use the uncompressed wav as the sound sourse for TMPGEnc to use. Use the avi as the video source for TMPGEnc. Don't try to compress and multiplex it, before enconding with TMPGEnc.
