  1. For months I have edited AVI-files in Studio 7 and put the result as edited AVI-files back on HD. Then with TMPGEnc Plus I make my MPG2 (SVCD)-files. But all of a sudden the TMPGENc refuses the edited AVI-files, but not the 'raw' ones taken from the DV-camera. It also refuses the old ones that I have kept on HD and earlier have made MPG2-files from. What can have happened?
The message is: Can not open or unsupported. This completely stops all my work, converting old Hi-8 to files.

  2. Have you tried an older version of TMPEnc (12a for example) ?
I am using 12a, 12f, 2.51 and all of them works for me with AVI generated by Studio DV software.

  3. The relative priority settings of the VFAPI plugins under Environmental Settings required to support opening various AVI's seems to depend on the compression used if any. I need to fiddle around to open Huffy vs M JPG compression AVI's.

  4. Thanks for the answers! drdy111956 pinpointed the problem. In environmental setting, VFAPI I removed the tick on 'Avisynth/Virtual Dub script reader v 0,1. File: ReadAVS.dll, priority 3. '
Has this come in the system and made active because I used the DVD2SVCD-program? It pretty much takes control over the system, but probably dosen't clean up.
    But now it works!

I have a similar problem: I render my movies in avi format from Studio7 and save to HD. Then I open TMPGEnc to make a VCD using (setting of 29.9 frames). Most of the time either I get a error message or the preview (during encoding) has a horizontal line picturing what normally would be in the bottom of the screen. Can't figure out what I doing wrong. Does anyone know?

  6. I've got the same problem, unsupported!
I noted that the under properties in windows explorer, the raw video is identified as Dc10+(16) codec, but the rendered output from Studio is unindentified.
    Strange isn't it?
If you use Vdub to simple re-compress it with DC10+ codec, everything is back to normality.

    Any clue?
