  1. 1. Just wandering, how do you burn DVD's onto blank DVD. Do you just copy it striaght from the vob file?

    3. And after burning the DVD, does the menu pop up? Or does it go striaght to the movie?

    2. How's the sound and audio quality? The same as the original?

1.you can just take the files from a dvd and put them on a dvd-r(including vob files etc.) but the disc might not work. you would have to copy the whole dvd, not just some of the vobs. also you can't just dump mpeg files on a dvd and expect it to work on your dvd player. you have to author the disc so the mpeg file would be coverted to a vob file and have a standard dvd file structure.
    2. the menu should appear straight away.(whether you've copied a dvd or made your own one using something like dvd workshop.)
3.if you are making a straight copy of a dvd the sound quality should be the same.

Go into the tools section and fine the ifoedit home page, his howtos should answer all of your questions, as far as the audio goes you can keep what ever audio tracks you want as long as you have the space on the dvd.

But be warned when your backing up commercial dvds usually they are dual layer so it can sometimes be a fight trying to make them fit on a DVD-R
