Trouble burning a svcd mpeg with nero

All goes well with the conversion from avi to svcd using all the right settings and when i go to burn the mpeg svcd onto a cd with nero, it scans it and then says that it is okay and i burn it to cdr and when i go to play it in my home dvd player...it wont play(other svcds do play)...i have tried different programs to convert the movie from avi to svcd and all turn out okay and then wont work on my home dvd player, but work on the computer(i like to stress that yes my dvd player does play svcd and vcds)

First...is it just this SVCD or have you ever played one in it?
Was it store bought or homemade?
What type of DVD palyer is it?

All this is needed...because some say they play VCD but only factory presses not CDR or CDRW.
Some play CDRW but no CDR.... Some just don't like certain brands or even colors of media......

So...what ya got?

just svcds made with nero(burning the image of bin to the cd that has already been created works okay) using the mpeg conversion codec doesnt work
homemade...both the one that would play and the one that wouldnt
apex is the brand of the dvd player and it does play svcd, vcd, mp3s

I had the same problem, and It was ok since I use Nero 5.5.8 and "Disk at once/96" in "Write method"
