I found a really simple guide to convert DV to Mpeg2 in Premiere 6 using link to AVsynth plugin, and frameserving to a stand alone encoder such as tmpgenc or LSX.
But I was also told by someone that Frameserving wont work in Windows XP. Is this true? does anyone have any experience with this? please let me know - thankyou

Ok - I can get Premiere to start frameserving using Link to AVIsynth - but I cant get Tmpgenc to accept the frameserver - I have followed the instructions but Tmpgenc wont recognize AVS files even after I installed the AVS import filter. Some one please help

Its really weird too - In tmpgenc when i try and open a file it allows me to choose the AVS and VDR file extensions to open but when i try and open the AVS file extension it says its unsupported - it makes no sense to me.

TMPG > option > enviromental setting > vfapi plugin > disable direct show multimedia file reader.
