  1. I'm trying to convert a show I got from a friend in .avi format and want to use TMPGEnc to convert it to mpg. Unfornuately the video comes out split down the screen. It views fine on windows media player. Any way to get rid of the the video split?

  3. What do you mean different modes? I have an avi video. When I try to convert to mpg the preview window shows half the video on one side and half on the other side, one is normal color the other side is that funky color like when your TV is on the fritz. I would just assume it was a bad source, but it plays fine on three different players. I want to convert this episode to watch on a VCD disc, but it just won't convert. I tried another convertor also, but still the same.

  4. try open it with VirtualDub
if works you can demultiplex the video and audio or
re save a new avi or Frameserve to TMPGEnc.

  6. Thanks, I'll try, I'm not too familar with Vdub, I use it too extract audio, but that is it, I tried to follow the guide, but vdub just locked up, so I think it might be the file, I opened the file, full processing on audio and video and choose MP3 128 44,000 and I think a divx codec. It just locked up. Oh well, I guess I'll just redload another episode.

  7. Go here and download special Virtual Dub.
Scroll down to version identified as : MP3_ Freeze.
Then: File > Open > Video > Check For Freezes.
If there are bad frames ,you will be prompted to see them in Notepad or Workpad .Note them them go back to Virtualdub and extract the bad frames .
