    A few questions

    1) Am I correct in assuming that an AVI 25fps movie will get converted properly to 29.97fps, if I use the wizard for Video-cd>NTCS? The guides say to input the same FPS from AVI source to the encoder, but I know I can't play them in my North American T.V.

    2) Under the Advanced tab, is the source aspect ratio the VCR, camcorder, TV, or is it the final destination to be played on. I don't know the purpose of this tab, and how it effects the final encode.

    3) What settings are used under the Advanced tab for a widescreen AVI file to a widescreen for a T.V.

    4) What settings are used under the Advanced tab for a widescreen AVI file to a 4:3 display for a T.V.

This would help me better understand regardless of http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgencexplained.htm , because I'm slowwwww.
    Thanx.

Source aspect ratio should be 1:1(VGA). You only alter this if you are converting from DVD. Video arrange method should be one of the (keep aspect ratio) options. By changing from 25fps to 29.37 you are going to introduce a certain jerkiness. The best option is to keep the same framerate, but if you can't, you might be better off using the NTSC(film) template.

If you want to keep the widescreen aspect, choose Video arrange method Full screen(keep aspect ratio). Normally the output suits 4:3. If you want to better fit a widescreen TV you will need to alter video>aspect ratio to 16:9 525 line(NTSC). Normally this is grayed out, so you need to load the unlock template in the *extra* directory after the desired template. This unlocks everyhing, so you will need to ensure none of the other settings get altered.
