Hi I have a big problem when I try to capture with Virtual Dub and I would really appreciate it if someone can help me. I can capture video at less than xxx x 299, but I cannot capture video at more than xxx x 300 and I want to capture the video at 640 x 480 so when I export it back to a video tape I want the quality to be about the same. This only happens when I use Windows 2000 Advanced Server but I also use Windows ME and it captures fine but with lots of dropped frames and it also crashes a lot.
Oh by the way I have Windows 2000 Advanced Server, 1.0Ghz Pentium 3 processor, 256Mb RAM, 40Gb HDD at 5200rpm (or whatever) but I save the captured files to another HDD that goes at 7200rpm, and my Graphics card is nVidia GeForce 2 MX with TV-out, and the TV Capture card is Dynalink Askey Magic TView CPH061.
Can someone please tell me what to do coz I don't have a lot of time to finish editing the video and does anyone know what is the best compressor to use when capturing video?

Have you ever gotten that TV card to go that high? Some cards don't support 640x480. Other than that, I'm no help.

Yes, the card supports 640x480 capturing, but it doesn't work on Virtual Dub. I've tried capturing in Adobe Premiere 6, but on the capturing options it doesn't have 640x480, it has something like 720x540 and you can't enter the capture size. Anyway I also have Windows ME and I can capture at 640x480 on Virtual Dub, but it has a lot of dropped frames, that's why I want to use Win 2000 AS and it is more stable than Win ME.
