  1. First off.. Irc doesn't dissconnect you if you run something in the background. Try running a website that constantly refreshes.

Second. 2 movies a day? What are you on? cable.
I'm on a company broadband. I bring 1.5 mbs down and 2 up.

Third.. They don't tell you the servers on irc b/c the more people on the slower the dls... duh!

Get fast internet. BTW, with cable and dsl.. you cant post on the newsgroups. They will warn you if you try to.

Anybody use MIRC & is it worth Pursuing? PLEASE RESPOND!
I use it to get 80's music videos, and I don't have to negotiate to get them. I purley leach. At 56K I have no business being a server. Anyway, there are still tons of 80's music videos for me to download. It's not easy to use but the only one I can use with the firewall I have to go through (my ISP's).

  3. I have heard all good things about irc except for the fact that it is hard to use. I think once you use it for a while you will get good at it.

It's a small price to pay for the good aspects of the software.

  5. I've been playing with IRC for a short while now and getting quite used to it.

I find the XDCC-Bots best so far for download.

8 times out of 10 you don't even have to queue.

I found that a friend of mine off another forum is good with IRC and he has been talking me through quite a lot of how it works and such things.

    Getting easier all the time.....

If I was to use a P2P program now though it would be WinMX.
Been playing with that as well and find that a lot of the stuff on there is much better quality than Kazaa.
You get MPEG on there as much as avi and full mp3 Albums as well.

I'm on a closed fiber loop.... In laymans terms thats: 10mbs up and down.
Its the rest of the world thats slowing me down.

And I use KaZaa Lite....but I still assert....If we would all connect and share at least one dam file.....stuff would fly.
