When I have made a movie in Pinnacle (*.sdv) and try to render to MPEG (vcd), it stops after a while and it locks the program. If I try it again later, the same problem after the same amount of time. When I take another (*.sdv) movie it finishes (even if it's longer).
There is enough memory and disk space.

Use Pinnacle Studio DV. Trouble with converting the *.sdv file to MPGEG (vcd).

I have had the same problem and I quit jumping through their tech support hoops. If you output to a high quality AVI (like Indeo 5, 100% quality) then feed that into TMPGenc you'll probably get better quality and it will not get stuck.
Hope this helps! Da KittyPanasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'
