I am using a HP Pavilion with XP and a Phillips CDD4851 CDR/RW and Nero v. 5.5.64. I used to be able to burn vcds with no problem. Recently I got a message about "Power Calibration Error" I checked the nero help menu and it stated that it was a serious hardware problem. I turned my computer off for a couple days and came back for try #2. It started burning without the message, but when I put the vcd in my Panasonic DVD-RV31UK I get a garbled picture and an electronic skipping in the sound. Basically the vcd is total crap and I have created a coaster. I am using Memorex CD-R 700 32X. What the hell is going on?
Any help would be appreciated

Have you installed new software(esp.burn software) or hardware since
the last time you made a vcd?Uninstall other burn software and update
to Nero 5.5.8.2,also update firmware for your Phillips. -
Thanks for your help. It was greatly apprciated. I found out the problem. I had bought a spindel of memorex CD-Rs and I think the store had left them in the sun and/or moist place because they were warped slightly. I figured this out when I made a mp3 disk and put it in my Napa DAV311. I heard part of the disc actually hitting the bottom of the player instead of turning smoothly. The problem burning and with my VCDs has not returned since I bought a new spindel of CD-Rs, but I am going to upgrade my nero like you suggested. Thanks again.
