I'do subtitles with Sub Station Alpha to vcd and I have already text to Alpha. There is frame numbers to text(I think),but there is no time to text. Can I use frames somehow? or do I have to manually add time to each text? or are there any easy way to do subs?

I am a newbie, so feel free to take what I tell you with a grain of salt. I run the video in VirtualDub, with a pen and paper handy.
I pause where I want the first subtitle, write the time and subtitle on my pad. I repeat this until I have gone through my video.
I then open Sub Station Alpha, write each subtitle and in the upper left portion of the program, enter the time I want it started in my video, skip the "end" time entry, and enter how long I want the subtitle to last.
Sub Station Alpha then upadates the "end" entry. Save. I think it is very easy. What do you think?
