  1. Hey, I"m sure this will sound really dumb for most of you, and I'm not even sure if this is in the right forum, but here goes. I've tried burning an .mpeg to a CD, and playing this through an Apex DVD player with Nero version 5.5.7.2. I've followed the instructions given on this site, but while the burning process is supposedly taking place, there is no activity in my CD writing drive. I have not been able to find where I would state which drive to burn to in Nero. Any help would be appreciated. Also, when I go to burn a CD, instead of going to the burning screen, I get a prompt about saving an image file in .nrg format. I am postitive that I have followed the directions on this site, so I know that that is not the problem. Any insight would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks for your time.[/i]

  2. As a Nero devotee, it is my solemn duty to help you.

I'm personally using a newer version, but I don't think much has changed on the program options front.

Open up Nero, then hit ctrl+r to go to the "choose recorder" screen. Make sure that your burner is selected, not the image file writer.

    Should solve your problem.

  3. I've done that, but when the box comes up, there is only one option to select: Image Recorder. Do you know how I can make Nero detect my burner?

  4. What kind of burner do you have? You may need to upgrade Nero to have it detect it.

Do other CD recording programs work?

  5. I've got an HP 8200 Plus. Yes, other programs work fine.

  6. Hmmmmm... Nero *should* support your drive... I'm assuming you've got the internal 8200, and not the USB one.

You may need updated software for your drive. Go here: http://www.hp.com/cposupport/swindexes/hpcd-write10787_swen.html and see if you can find anything that helps.[/url]
