WMP Playback Issues

I've tried to track down a problem i've had for a while now and nothing seems to give. I've looked on numerous forums and no info or any similar problems have cropped up like mine.

The problem is i can play 75% of my divx movies in WMP 7.0 and they look fine but the other 25% they look horrible even thou it's DivX. I can open the movie up in DivX Player 2.0 and it looks wonderful.. the way it's supposed to but then when i use WMP it's nasty. I'm not sure why it only does this on certain movies i've tried to get specifics on the avi files but nothing seems out of whack on them. I'm at a loss to be honest and i've tried to goto my video compression codecs and remove some of them but they never actually remove if i go back and check them out.. strange.

I'm using win2000 and have the latest nimo codec (no g400 stuff installed) and 5.0.2 divx codec. My other 3 machines play 100% of the avi files and they look great but my main machine just isn't having it.

Cinepak Codec by Radius Inc
Divx Mpeg 4 (fast motion)
Divx Mpeg 4 (slow motion) (both of these i removed manually but they still show up.)

If anyone has heard of a similar problem or need more specific info in order to help me out i'll be glad to supply it.
