I don't have a DVD-ROM in my computer, so I'm doing analog video capture (ASUS V7700 Deluxe) from my DVD player (Pioneer 440).
I have a Zefiro ZA2 audio card with optical and RCA S/PDIF input, so I can do a loseless audio capture. This works well when the DVD has a 2.0 audio track.
The problem is if the disc has only 5.1 audio. There's a lot of audio tools to convert AC3 audio into VCD compatible audio, but I've found none for recording into the computer as a .WAV.
The Za2 card seems to capture the AC3 stream without problems, but I don't know how to configure my main audio editor (Sound Forge) to record it.
So I'd like to know how to capture a DD ou DTS audio stream from a digital conection and remix to a Dolby Surround VCD compatible audio.

It should be possible to set the audio of your DVD player to 2-CH Stereo.

I think that a simple tool for recording raw data from the audio card would resolve the problem. Unless a header or conversion to VOB/WAV will be needed.Fran-K

This is really an interesting post and I also have the same question/problem. It seens that digital audio is not well supported by any program
But, my mainly interest is about your capture card. I saw you are from Brazil, São Paulo (like me). I also have a Asus GeForce2 Ti V7700 Deluxe and Im a bit frustrated with this card. Now I know it can only do NTSC captures, so its a big problem since in Brazil we use PALM for our TVs and NTSC for our VCRs. So have you tried any other type of video capture with this card? Ive been able to capture from my camcorder (NTSC) and a VCR (that I borrowed from a friend) that outputs tapes in NTSC->NTSC, but no lucky with TVs capture and standard VCRs. Do you have any solution for this capture card? Maybe should we buy a transcoder PALM->NTSC? I heard that it is not as cheap as NTSC->PALM
(something like 150 reais ~= 60 dollars).
I could send all this to your email buy you didnt specify it in your vcdhelp profile...
