TNPGEnc keeps locking up

I am having some trouble with TMPGEnc. Ever since upgraded my motherboard and processor, I keep getting read errors or my whole machine locks up when I convert an .avi to an .mpg. I thought it might have been a heat issue, but I took the case off and put an 8 inch portable fan next to the processor, but I still have the same errors.

I have the same problem. I have tried averything: even a clean windows install, nothing works... it seems to be a bug in the latest version. The ONLY thing that does work for me is to use a previous version of Tmpgenc (I used 2.53). If you find a solution please let me know.
