  5. Hi andybno1 when using CladXP how do you shrink the movie to fit a DVD-R, I normally use REMPEG2 with smartripper files.

  7. Thanks for the help guys.
However the problem appears only with Dune. It rips ok showing 2 hour 55 minutes when imported to Spruce Up however when authoring the moivie stope at 55 minutes approx. Really weird as I have not had problems backing up any other movies.
Any light on the subject would be gratefully recieved.

  8. try using IFOEDIT and see if anything is amiss. maybe the DVD company has something special they're done to not include the .VOB files. also, do you use DVD2AVI for framserving or just convert it to AVI?

  9. Have you tried loading all of the VOBS into DVD2AVI just to see that the entire movie is there? I would give that a shot.

  10. Hi I have tried Infoedit, same result. I do not convert to AVI as I use m2v ac3 streaming, with rempeg2 to encode to reduce length to 4.7gb for burning.

  11. The whole movie is there because if I backup to harddrive it plays in full using PowerDVD.

  12. good point. DVD2AVI has a preview option and let it save the project to make sure it creates all the frames and timeframes it's supposed to. also DVD2AVI gives you some good information on the VOB files so see how much info it can give you. if DVD2AVI is a success, use the .d2v DVD2AVI framserving file in your encoding program if possible since i've never had a problem with it.

  13. I had a similar problem. I ripped a movie that was larger than 4.7G. I used REMPEG to shink the movie. When I checked to see the progress. REMPEG said the process was complete. I broght the m2v file into IfoEdit and coverted the m2v file into a VOB file. I used IfoEdit's DVD Player, and about halfway through, the video froze, but I still had sound of the whole movie. Turned out to be that I ran out of hardrive space, and REMPEG did not report this. After I made sure I had enough disc space, I did the process again. and it worked. Hope this helps.
