  1. Hi people, I'm a newbie here and I need some opinions:

I want to capture a video and then convert it to DivX. What is the best way to do that?
Should I capture it already as DivX? Or as mpeg and then convert it to DivX?
What software should I use to capture and which one should I use to convert?
Is Adobe Premiere a good sofware to do those things?

    Thank you!!

You capture to the best of your ability, if that happens to be mpeg with no frame loss, then that is the best option.

However if you can capture to the final format without problems, then there would be no conversion afterwards. I capture to DivX Mpeg4-V3, and its very good, these are for sharing.

If I capture to VCD mpeg, and there are problems, it is not as easy to fix problems in Mpegs than it is in AVI.

So experiment..., try all the codec's some work better than others on different systems.
