Hi there....
![]()
My intensions are to copy dvd-movies and to put them on a regular cd-rom so that i can play them in my Dvd-player
Now my problem is to decide what type of video to decode to.
My dvd-player support's: Vcd, Xvcd, Cdr, Cdrw, Dvdr, Dvdrw
How can tel me what is the best and with what programs to do it ?
I have a Sony Dvp-NS400d cd/dvd player.
I use a Philips Cdrw 800 internal IDE burner.
I use 74 and 80 min. recordables
Thanx![]()

Hi,
Try SmartRipper->DVD2AVI->TMPGEnc->Nero
Personally I have tried the standard SVCD templates in TMPGEnc (don't forget to set the source range to split into CD's and set the Motion Search to High Quality.) Result is a 'quality' picture - near to DVD as you are gonna get ...
Appreciate you say that only VCD works on your player but no reason why you can't get good quality results using the VCD template instead but I haven't tried it myself.
Try to stick to the standard TMPGEnc templates if poss - otherwise Nero will winge and your player will probably not play them ...
Look at the guides if you are unfamiliar with the above programs - also remember to install them in the SAME directory or VFAPI won't work...
Good Luck...
