  1. I guess I would consider myself a Newbie since I haven't been able to get my own CDR VCD to work yet. I have a Daewoo 2000 DVD player and I've run CDR VCD's that have been burned on other people's machines, and have burned CDRW VCD's on my own machine, but I cannot get a CDR VCD to play on my DVD player that I have burned myself.

I have tried MANY different programs to burn as well. Nero, EZ-CD Creator, VCD easy, fireburner, etc, etc, but none will play on my DVD player. Anyone have any suggestions.

    This is my first post.

According to your post you tried CD-RW dics from others and CD-R dics that you burned. Try burning to a CD-RW and see if it works then.

  3. tgpo - I actually tried that also. I burned a Memorex CDRW and it worked fine on my DVD player. As I mentioned also, I borrowed a VCD from a friend and my DVD played that too, so I know it plays both CDR and CDRW. The only problem is that I can ONLY play CDRW's if I try to burn using my machine. I've also tried 4 different brands of CDR's and none of them will work when I burn it. In addition, I've tried 2 different burners. A sony burner and a Ricoh. Neither are top of the line, but both SHOULD work. I'm stumped at this point. (I've burned lots of coasters with many differnet software packages)..

Thanks for the thought. and thanks to anyone else that has ideas as well. I'm open to ALL suggestions at this point.

  6. I haven't tried yet, but planned on trying to run the CDR VCD's I burned, on a friends DVD player to see if THAT works. That's the only other step I could think of to try. Beyond that I'm completely at a loss.

    Thanks

  7. To add to my earlier questions and comments, I have found that only one brand of CDR works on my Daewoo model. Believe it or not it's Office Depot. Does anyone know what brand of CDR's work best with earlier Daewoo's like the 2000.

I've tried Imation, Memorex, and a couple others. The Office Depot CDR and Memorex CDRW are the only ones that have worked so far, although the Office Depot I didn't burn myself.

    Thanks again everyone.
