I will add sound later, but for now I have old home movie transfers I want to get on disk to distribute to family members. BBmpeg rejects file without sound. Should I just add some music file, or something like chime.wav? Length won't matter?

I think but I'm not positive that TMPGEnc will mux just a video stream into a system stream without audio. (I know it can encode it that way, anyway).

can you just change the extention of your file from .mpv to .mpg?
I'm not sure if that will work. if not, TMPG can definitely mux as system with no audio.what are you askin' me for...

Keerist, I was thinking I had to use BBmpeg because that keeps the audio in synch, guess that won't be a problem, huh? will post results, thanks, guys.

Use the Windows sound recorder applet to record a a few seconds or more of silence (no mic required). Use the wav file that you make as the audio to mux.
