  1. i'm just a little confused as to where to locate exact parts of a DVD like the Menus, subtitles, extra languages trackes, extras, mutli angle, etc... anyone know aof a good tutorial that explains file extensions and basic DVD authoring???

    It is in fact (now) possible to do this, without ripping off Apple/Buying dvdstudio pro.

    The deal is, if you have a dvd > dvd-r, you'll have to re-encode the video to a bitrate of about oh, say 5000-5200.

    There are free tools out there that handle this; this hasn't been a problem on MacOSX for awhile now.

    The "Missing Link" has always been generating the IFO/BUP files, and VOBs with valid VOBUs for DVD-Video.

    I have solved this problem by porting some stuff from one of the linux dvd authoring projects.

    I was doing it for QuickTime movies (or avi's inside a dependant MooV wrapper), but it would be too hard to do it from vobs I guess.

    I'm looking for feedback on this. I still maintain the best way to go would be to roll it into ffmpegX, tho.
