I got a mpeg 2 svcd witch as stream encoding ntsc and pal screens ( I mean part are in ntsc 480x480 29.97, and others are 480x576 25) my dvd palyer don't play xsvcd only svcd 1.0 compliant so when I tried to reencode using tmpeg is says can not open or unsupported and in virtual dub it says mpeg import filter: pack synchronization error
when I tries to demultiplex it says illegal mpeg video stream
    any help?

Check the convert section for SVCD to VCD conversion.

This sounds a bit of a mess! I would see if you can split up the parts which are encoded differently, and process each bit separately.

No. Split the 480x480 from the 480x576 - then proceed as normal.

Well, I've never seen an mpg such as you describe. 8) But I think the different formats are what is causing the problem. Have you tried splitting the different formats using TMPGenc's mpeg tools?

I think what you ask me is demux which as I said cause an error, Illegal MPEG video stream, I've tried other software in the tools sections and it's always about stream error, vcdgear which was my best hope to join the tracks so I got the entire mpg (instead of the movie without the in and outro) said the same thing, stream error

i'm getting NEAR what I want with vcdeasy, still getting errors
here what happens, he extract and join the files svcd compliant but when reaching an entry point he says fwrite(): Permission denied
treied another time and got a different error: fread (): Permission denied
    always getting these 2 errors
maybe you can help me with that one

I said split, not demux. I would suggest all the problems you are encountering is because of the mixed format mpg. Any demuxer or encoder does not expect to find a change of resolution halfway through the job. I am suggesting splitting, in terms of time or size if you like, the 480x480 from the 480x576, and then processing each bit in turn.

I said demux because there is no split in the mpeg tools of tmpeng
