I've used TMPGenc to create a .m2v file (from a .d2v in DVD2AVI) and playback is OK through PowerDVD (albeit without sound).
Then remuxed the .m2v to .VOBs with IFOedit and playback is terrible (inc. dropping sound).
Am I doing something wrong here? The encoding seems to have been successful cos the .m2v plays OK.
I'm getting really annoyed with this, and I'm at the brink of splitting the damn DVD to 2 discs which I'd rather not cos the transcoded movie I get is very good quality (from the .m2v).
Please can ne1 tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Cheers.

i tried alot of different ways of doing things when i started and i did not like dvd2avi at all. Try using these progs. The tutorial is at www.dvd2dvdr.com. This method works flawlessly for me. Hope this helps.

Thx for the tip/link.
I'll give SpruceUp and Primo a try.
One question, since I have already ripped the VOBs, which is the best tool for extracting an .ac3 file out of them when they are on the HDD?
I know I can use DVD2AVI but are there any better tools.
Cheers. -
i use vobedit. It allows me to demux both the video and audio as an m2v file and an ac3 file.
