  1. OK, Maybe the impossible but after investing in HPs DVD 100i and paying the extra $99 to get the upgrade to the 200i, I still cant get my productions using Memorex DVD+RWs to play in my Samsung DVD M301 Player!!! Works great in my PC though!

    I've tried...
    - the software that came with the burner.
    - NERO
    - Ulead DVD Movie Factory

Is the player not compatible with these disks (DVD+RW) or am I doing something wrong?

Any and All responses are GREATLY Appreciated!

    Thanks!

  2. Yep!

Thanks, I was looking there before my post and noticed only one response related to DVD+R/RW. And the answer was no!

All I'm asking is if this player is some sort of pre-dvd writable generation player that wont play any dvd writable media and if anyone has had any experience with trying to make it work or getting it to work.

    Thanks!

  3. Ok!?!

Something dissapointing, at least for me!

I called Samsung tec support (1-800-samsung) and was told this model (dvd-m301) will not play dvd writeable/rewriteable media of any kind!

Kinda dissapointing since I made my decision to buy this unit (dvd200i) based on HPs compatibility list at...

    http://www.hp.com/cposupport/information_storage/support_doc/lpg41401.html

    To quote them:
"For DVD players, compatible means DVD+RW / DVD+R discs are recognized by the player and successfully played back."

I think they mean the disk will fit in the dvd tray and you can open and close the tray.

    Im dissapointed!

    Boy what an expensive mistake!!!

Nothing else to do now except fork over another $150 for another player!

    Thanks HP for nothing! @#$%

Please take this unit off of your compatibility list!

  4. Hi,

The DVD Player does read DVD+RW (and most certainly will read DVD+R as well). You need to run the bitset utility for it to work though. Here is the link....

    http://www.dvdplusrw.org/resources/bitsettings.html#pc

    Hope this helps.

  5. Go here too...

    http://www.dvdplusrw.org/resources/compatibilitylist_dvdvideo.html

If it can read DVD+RW it will most definetely and likely read DVD+R.

    Thanks for the reply.

I've been this route too! I've tried this utility from the installation CD and downloading. I've set the drive & disk from mode 1 & 2 and back and have had no luck.

Could you email me and let me know what the correct settings are for this utility?

    Thanks!
