I have re-encoded a movie using TMPGenc and now have a .mpg file.
How do I remux this back into VOB files using IFOedit so I can burn to DVD-R.
IFOedit expects .m2v file and when I try using .mpg file it gives me a "synchronisation err".
Will I need to re-encode again?![]()
Plz any help appreciated.
I have read the guides but couldn't find help on this.

To my knowledge, only a DVD authoring program can create VOB files.
There are inexpensive programs for as little as $49.
TMPEGEnc can create seperate video and audio files, however, just change the extension afterwards. -
Thx for your suggestion...
I've renamed .mpg to .m2v and I still get "Synchronisation error on MPEG file" msg, of which I cannot cancel without End-Tasking IFOedit.
Does this mean I cannot remux into VOBs?
I used ReMPEG previously to create my .m2v file and successfully remuxed into VOBs with IFOedit and then burnt, but I had jumping frames in playback so thought I'd use a diff encoder.
Anything else I can try?
Thx.

You cannot simply rename mpg files into m2v files.
Mpeg files contain both audio and video.
M2v files contain only video. -
When I transcoded using TMPGenc I supplied a .wav file and .d2v file and I got a .mpg file.
How do I get this file back into IFOedit so I can put the DVD chapter menus around and then burn with Nero?
I did it with ReMPEG cos it creates a .m2v file - I thought TMPGenc wouyld be the same.
What are my options.
I just want to create my DVD with chapters and menus and my transcoded movie (which should all now fit on 1 DVD-R).
Thx.

I just want to create my DVD with chapters and menus

I want to use the menu VOBs on the original DVD that I ripped, not create my own.
Can I still do that with an authoring program?
If so, what is the best authoring program?
If not, how do I burn the DVD with the original menus intact, using my .mpg file.
Sorry for asking stupid questions....
I will get it soon.....
Thx.

You need to read the guides on ripping DVD's elsewhere on this site. It's all explained.
