  1. I have a question about TMPGEnc. Well i have episode ii, spiderman, and other movies that I downloaded. They are all in the .avi format. Now I had to install a codec so I can view them on my computer. The problem is, that I want to convert the avi files into a vcd so I of course can view them from my couch. Well when I try to load the avi video files I get the following error message: File "something.avi" can not open, or unsupported.

And I just have to press ok. Is there something that I can do? Any suggestions would be appreciated thank you for taking the time to read this. Have a nice day. 8)

Do a search on this site. Dozens of people have had problems with Spiderman, mainly because there are errors on discs 2 and 3.

If you cannot view the AVI, you do not have its codec installed. So you need to right click the AVI to find out what the codec is... Then install it.

After you can vew the AVI, you need to load it into Vdub to check for bad frames....

  5. Oh yeah by the way I ran the frame error dectator on vdub, and it said i had 0 bad frames. By the way I ran the file information thing on vdub and it say its a DivX Mpeg-4 low motion decompressor, I have downloaded the codec.

Did you fix the problem ?

In TMPGEnc, select options > environment settings

Next click the VFAPI tab, Right click "Direct Show", and select higher priority, do this until its at the top with a value of 4

  7. My employee was having the same problem today and I had him install the NIMO codec pac (found in the tools section to the left). It solved the problem for him. Worth a try, Andy
