  1. Good evening all,

    I just converted a large .avi Divx file to Mpeg using TMP.

    How I did it:

    * Chose the source file and output location
    * Loaded NTSC 29.97
    * Went to settings, Advanced.
    * Chose 1:1 ... and Full Screen
    * Checked "Do not frame rate conversion" because I didn't want audio and video to unsync during the process.

    The result is an .mpg that is high quality, but has no sound! Any clues?

  2. That happened to me many times and I just couldn't figure it out!
    I'm not even sure if I know why now, but for some reason TEmp doesn't seem to be able to decompress the mp3 audio, which is the format used for divX to obtain the small size.
    Put the DivX avi through virtual dub first and choose "audio-->full processing mode-->compression-->no compression PCM"
    Then choose "video-->direct stream copy"
    Save avi as usual........this takes about 1-2 mins depending on your system.
    After that put it back into TMP and do as you did.......
    It'll take about the same time....a few hours, but that should fix it......
    I was pulling my hair out for days before a mate tipped me off to this.
    Hope it helps.

    I've also had the same problem with converting divx to mpeg. Sometimes just saving the file to a wav with virtualdub works (then you just load that wav into tmp as your audio source), sometimes I have to recompress it in vdub using full processing on both audio and video. You can test the file in tmpg before doing the whole thing, just abort the encode after a few seconds, and you can see if the audio plays.
