    Which of the following capture cards is the best, and for what reasons?

    WinTV
    ATI TV Wonder
    Dazzle
    any other brand

    What brand would your recommend?

    Choose a device that is either 1394 Firewire(good for DV) or pci(good for vhs,HI-8),usb(good for nothing) is the worst video quality.

    Well I can tell you that most of them have really BAD customer support!
    Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

    Dazzle doesn't. They have really good support.

    Pinnacle is good, but if it has a firewire port check it will work with your camera. At work we bought a DV500+ it doesnt work with our DVCPRO camera (profesional quality). Pinnacle wasn't very helpful but otherwise the card is great. It's also worth looking at the software bundled with the card.
