I've seen some really good quality SVCDs Musicvideos out there the internet and prepare to match them.
But I come across a really annoying problem which i hate. Then i capture with codecs like HuffyUV and PicVideo, they do not drop frames, but when i come to encode them in TMPGenc, the interlace lines are there. Should they be there?? I capture in 480 x 576 and still come up, also capturing at other sizes still make them come up.
If the interlace lines are suppose to be there, what can i do?? I've tried putting up with this using the Deinterlace filter in TMPGenc and it looks not too bad, but when finished encoding, i can see alot of ghosty movement which I don't want. Is there neway of avoiding the interlace lines when caputuring?? Or do I have to manually remove them in a special way to maximise quality??
I'm capturing using a ATI AIW 128 Pro and like in UK (PAL)

If you've tried both field A and field B first in your encoder with no joy, try ticking the "swap fields on decompression because of buggered capture driver box" in your huffyuv codec setup. Field problems can be a common occurence because of shite drivers.
