  1. i have a very unusual problem with TMPGEnc and it is stopping me from encoding any video. Whenever i encode video the result plays OK on my PC, but when i play it on my DVD player, the result is stretched by about 50 pixels on each side, resulting in a horizontally stretched image. Thing is its only like this for 2 seconds. After 2 seconds, it goes back to normal. Its very ugly like this, whenever my menus' look every 5 seconds, it displays them stretched for the first 2, then normal for the last 3. Thing is i cannot pinpoint what causes this. i have tried EVERYTHING. ive tried using TMPGENC 12a, 2.2, 2.53, and 2.54a all have the same problems. Ive tried using windowx XP, windows 2000 and windows 98, still no fix. Ive tried using Mpeg-1 at different resolutions, instead of Mpeg-2, still the same. Ive even tried using another CD-Burner, no avail.
But i know its not my DVD player because
    a) this never used to happen
    b) movies encoded thru CCE play fine without this annoying stretching and destretching.

i REALLY need help on this subject. someone PLEASE!

With the lack of specific information about what the source is, what template you are using and the various TMPGenc settings you used, are you really surprised you get 100 views and 0 replies?

  4. Yes i am. Being more specific, it happens regardless of source material (ive tried 5 different BMP images, and 8 different avi files). Ive tried using the set templates, as well as the unlock template.
When i encode at MPEG-1 at 352x240, the images displays strected for 2 seconds, and then appears normal. When i encode MPEG-1 at 720x480(576) it appears normal. When i encode MPEG-2 (regardless of resolution) it appears stretched, then normal.

As for specific settings in TMPGEnc, i have CBR 1880kb/s. motion search as highest, DC at 10bit (for MPEG-2) and non-interlaced, and the aspect ratio set at 4:3. Ive tried changing aspect ratio, no succes.
