  1. I am using TMPGEnc (I tried both version A and verion I) to convert an 10 minutes long avi to mpeg1. The avi clip is captured by using Pinnacle DV500, and I do have "Driver Patch 2.01 for DV500plus and DV500" installed.

Converion went through without any problem. When I try to play it back, everything works fine until 4:44, and then I am getting a blank screen with no audio.

    Can someone help me? Thanks.

  2. I also have had a problem to convert a AVI-file to Mpeg1. The frame freeze at about 4.40 minutes (for about 20 secondes). The Avi-file was created by studio DV. Even with another movie the same problem. When you watch the AVI movie it seems to be o.k. I work around the problem now. Ater having edit the captured movie I write it back to my DV-came and capture it again with studio DV. (now you don't lose any quality). After using TmpegEnc to convert the movie to Mpeg1 the movie runs now without any problems!! Of course the DV cam must have the option DV-in.

  3. Using DV500 you are also writing in Pinnacle DV Codec. Export to Microsoft Codec and you will find that it works fine with TPMGenc! Good Luck!
