XML

  1. I see that VCD Imager is a popular tool here and it uses XML, is it possible to use a XML wysiwyg editor to create your screens etc and then import it in to VDCI as I have done a search for XML editors on tucows and there are quite a few - would make it so much easier

  2. Aboslutely!

In fact, some XML authoring programs will let you set a reference to the DTD (or other) Schema and let you visually create the XML Document from those known entities. This would make the job so much easier.

I deal with XML Professionally so I use a high-end application called XML Instance. This program is definitely more than you need for creating XML Documents for VCDImager but it does do everything I described above.

Hopefully someone will include full XML generation support in an upcoming GUI. I have even fancied taking on such a project. Maybe one day soon.

...almost forgot.. there is a GUI called VCD2XML but it only does basic Menus and does not do Entry-Points. This may do what you want... at least it will genearate a "basic" XML Document that you can manipulate.
