Hi all....
I have a downloaded .avi that i'd like to convert to mpeg1 for VCD... the thing is that for it to be in sync with the audio it needs to be a framerate of 30.014.... i found that out using trial and error with virtual dub..
Just wondering what you all think my best option is? can i encode it both audio and video to be compatable somehow? do i need to change the speed of the audio by itself somehow and then put that to the video?
anything advice or suggestions at all is appreciated...

For VCD you need to encode it at a standard framerate, your best bet would be 29.97fps (NTSC) format. This will play very slightly slower than the original but not so much you would notice the difference. In order to get the audio in sync you will need to extract it with virtualdub and stretch it slightly. You will need a decent wave editor program to do this but there are many to choose from. There is a guide all about this subject in the HOWTOS, have look and learn something.
