  1. I have the basics of video. I capture, edit a liitle, and burn easily. I want to get into the advanced topics of video editing to make my movies look better. I want to know the advanced topics and termonology I hear on this forum. I found this book: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/books/0937404853/glance/102-3243358-4752129 "Nonlinear - A Field Guide to Digital Video and Film Editing" It seems to have topics I want to learn about. Does anybody have it? Does anybody know of another website or book that goes in depth into the digital video process?

I haven't read the book in question, but i following your link to the sample pages, and i do hope it gets more intresting than the first 22 sample pages.

    What are your needs -?

How to do NLE ? - fades / effects / transisions
How to do good quality home video?
    How to do quality encodes?

Try going to Adobe (or any NLE programs) user forum. I read the Adobe user forum occasionally for ideas and find it helpful.

  3. I'm an looking for all these things! I would like a NLE primer, tutorial on how to manipulate conversion software for the best results, and a background in digital editing and video. I think this book could get me started, but I think the other topics come from experience and sifting through user's manual. I know there are things I don't even know about yet, so maybe one of these broad topic books would help.

  4. Does anybody know of any software specific guides too (CCE, TMPEGnc, Vegas Video)? It doesn't seem the user's manuals get to the basics of what is happening to the video.
