I'm trying to convert an SVCD file to a VCD compliant MPEG: my DVD player won't play SVCDs, even after renaming headers. I've been successfully using DVD2Avi and TMPEG to do this.
The problem I have is with a movie containing a few corrupted frames about five minutes in, which stops TMPEG in its tracks. I've tried encoding two seperate files, one before and one after the bad frames, but the latter part of the movie is jerky and out of synch. When I try to just cut the SVCD file in TMPEG things go out of synch too.
Can anyone suggest a way of repairing the SVCD file, or of cutting out the offending frames, so that I can get a succesful conversion?
Thanks in advance.
[The file I'm working with, by the way, is episode 23 of "24", the Hawgsmacker version.]
