  1. I have the JVC XV-721BK (black version of the XV-723GD) and I can't get my movie burned by a Pioneer DVR-A04 on Pioneer DVD-R branded media to work.

I also tried it in an older Toshiba SD3109. Should they play or is it time to upgrade players?

It play flawlessly in my PS2 box.

    Help and suggestions please!

  2. I had the same problem with my XV-SA75GD DVD Player. Come to find out, it had something to do with Nero 5.5.7.8, I burned my next 6 DVDs with RecordNow Max and they play without a problem. Hope this helps.

  5. The Toshiba is very very finicky! I ended up selling mine and geting a nice Panasonic Progressive for $125.

You won't have continued success with the Toshiba. Believe me, upgrading will to you wonders!

  8. Keith, just wondering what version of Nero you were using? Wondering if they solved any of those dvd issues with the newest 5.5.9.9

  9. Nero 5.5.9.0

I don't think it has ever been resolved. I think the general concensus is to use something else like Prassi PrimoDVD, Stomp RecordNow, or something.

  10. I tried Stomp and it wouldn't let me make an image of a DVD that I own. Told me that it was copy protected. Am I doing something wrong? Is PrassiPrimo DVD easier/better to use?

  11. @ Burner27
You cannot just make an image of a DVD movie, they're protected with CSS.

Nero 5.5.9.0 is working perfectly onmy Sony DAV500!! (and ps2)
