  1. i tried to convert an avi file to mpeg using nero 5.5 and burning it to disc. the burn said it was successful but i get no video in my dvd player(i have a stand alone). the sound is fine i just can't see it. hEEEEEElp!!

    I had the same problem. Make sure that when you convert from .avi to .mpg you view the .mpg once its complete. Chances are its the .mpg that has no picture. If so, read through the Conversion information on this site. It'll walk you through the steps.

  3. you might be missing a step. i'm not professing to know it all, but this is what i've done to get things to work:

    1. convert avi to mpeg using your favourite software
    2. convert mpeg to vcd compliant mpeg with TMPGEnc
    3. burn mpeg onto cd-rw (which seems to be the preferred medium) using nero

    this might solve the no video issue, but i'm not positive. which is why you should use cd-rw... if you mess up, you can always erase it and start all over again.

  4. I am a beginer and i downloaded a movie ( in*.avi format ) To view the movie on my dvd player do i just have to change it to mpg? or mpeg? Also the movie came in 2 parts so can i burn both parts on the same cd or do i have to burn them onto different cd;'s?????
